Call for Contributors

Hey you! Yeah, you there. We want your food-related musings.

Don’t bother with excuses. We’ve been recruiting contributors for two years through personal harassment, and we’ve heard all the excuses. All two of them:

  1. I don’t cook anything worth writing about. – Food Junta’s not about what you should cook, it’s about what you are cooking. Anything you prepare at home is interesting to us, I promise.
  2. I can’t write. – Gimme a break. Don’t worry about fancy prose. Just tell us about a dish you really like in your own words.

Those two won’t fly here, so don’t even try it. To maintain parallelism, there are also two rules.

  1. You must have a picture. – It should be one that you’ve taken, not one that you’ve found on the internet like I did today.
  2. You must discuss food in some context. – We do a lot of recipe write-ups, but any thoughts you have on home cooking, food shopping and storage, issues of food politics are welcome. One exception: There are many great places to write about restaurants, but this is not one of them.

We’re looking for contributors for next month and next year, so don’t worry if you’re having a busy week. Just drop us a line at foodjunta@gmail.com if you think you might be interested in writing a guest post at some point and we will go from there.
