Here is a better trick, just make a batch that will last 4 days or so. I do the 1 cup of oats to 3 cups water, skip the salt and use what I want that day and store the rest in the fridge for the next three days. I take out some, put in a small saucepan, add almond milk or water, sliced apples or dried fruit, reheat. It takes 5 minutes. Soak the pan or wash it right away or it's hard to clean. It will last for 5 days but by friday I am sick of it so I treat myself to eggs knowing I have been good all week!

Fun fact - non-dairy creamer (the powdered kind at least) is flammable. Fun fact 2 (related?) - lighter fluid is the best stain remover ever.

I'm with ya... adding salt is the only way to make delicious oatmeal! Thanks for your tips - I'm definitely going to start making oatmeal to-go.
